Experienced Leadership, Rooted in Homeschooling and Classical Education

Carolina Kavanaugh founder of The Vine Collective

Carolina Kavanaugh

Founder and 9th grade Facilitator for the 2026-2027 academic year

Carolina never imagined that she would homeschool her children, and yet, when her firstborn became of age to start school in 2009, she knew that she had to at least try it. It was a great fit for her family, but she knew she didn’t want to do it alone, so with a group of fellow first-time homeschoolers, she started a homeschooling co-op that thrived for 10 years. After that season, she transitioned her kids to a Classical Co-op where she taught for 6 years a variety of classes, from elementary aged children to 11th graders.  She is now so excited to take her many years of experience in the classroom and at home and pour them into developing The Vine Collective.

Carolina wants to extend a special thank you to her friend and co-curriculum developer, Nichole Sheperd, whose many years as a homeschooling momma, private school, and university model teacher contributed greatly to the development and formation of the scope and sequence of our program.  Her input and help was invaluable to the process!
